Renowned Local Photographer Recognized at Epson International Pano Awards 2023
The photo was taken around 5 p.m. on July 26, 2020. During this time, the light was still strong and had a beautiful golden hue, as shared by the photographer.
During feeding time, the duck herder brings food and calls out to them, causing thousands of ducks to gather around him and run in circles. To capture the moment, the photographer used a drone and added a filter to the camera.
“My intention was to slow down the shutter speed. Using a single static image, I was able to capture the swirling motions of the ducks. At that moment, their movement resembled a vortex,” Nhan wrote about the photograph on the awards website.
In addition, the photographer also won the overall runner-up in the Open competition this year.
Cao Ky Nhan, 41, is a freelance photographer from Phu Yen province who currently works in Ho Chi Minh City. He has been pursuing a career in photography since 2016.
Previously, he was twice honored with gold prizes at the Epson International Pano Awards for his photos of an autumn love song taken at Suoi Tia stream in Lam Dong province in 2021, as well as golden yellow rice fields along a river in Cao Bang province in 2022.
